Immediate Opening for an Automotive Collision Repair Technician to join our busy body shop at Sunset Chevrolet in Sarasota, FL.

Collision Technician Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

  • Repair and replace defective mechanical parts per estimate and according to manufacturer's standards.
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders.
  • Fill depressions with body filler.
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels
  • Bolt or weld replacement parts in position, using wrenches or welding equipment.
  • Straighten bent automobile frames.
  • File, grind and sand repaired surfaces.
  • Refinish repaired surface.
  • Aim headlights, align wheels, and bleed hydraulic brake system.
  • Notify management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains and wear all required safety and personal protective equipment, including respirator, safety glasses, gloves, etc. in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to safety, hazardous waste, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management. 

Collision Technician Requirements

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles.
  • Two or more years of related experience as a collision repair technician
  • ICAR or ASE certifications in auto body repair a plus.
  • Certificate from Vocational School in Collision a plus.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged vehicles including body work and when to replace or repair parts.
  • Ability to read and following instructions on repair/estimate orders.
  • Must be experienced, career minded, able to produce top quality results, take pride in your work, as well as have a great attitude.
  • Valid driver license and ability to pass background check and drug screen
